My name is Alexandra Gibb and I am a dual American-Canadian citizen with an academic background in political science, and a keen interest in national defence and security issues.
In 2006, I graduated from Skyline High School in Sammamish, Wash. and moved to Vancouver, B.C. to pursue a bachelor's degree in political science at Simon Fraser University. I graduated in 2011 with first-class honours, after completing a comprehensive research project that applied a social enterprise business model to Chile’s socio-economic development.
In 2013, I graduated from the University of British Columbia's Graduate School of Journalism, where I completed my master's thesis on drone journalism: the technology available, its practicality for both domestic and international reporting, and its potential ethical, legal and social implications for journalists, audiences and society. I also delved into the military and law enforcement applications of drone technology.
Today, I am a producer for CBC's The National.
